Mokum Moot Court

ASA International Law, ELSA Amsterdam and SIB Amsterdam are glad to announce that the first ever Mokum Moot Court Competition will be organised between 13 and 14 April 2023 at the University of Amsterdam!

Moot court competitions simulate court cases where you will have to use legal arguments to win. The competition is open to every student at the University of Amsterdam, the Vrije University, and AUC since we would like to provide an insight to what it is to be a lawyer. The case of the competition will be announced to the groups who sign up, but it will have an interdisciplinary and international aspect to involve as many students as possible.

You can sign up in groups of 2 to 4, but also as an individual, in which case you will be assigned to a random group - this also enhances the connection between students.

The participation is free.

Moot courting at the University of Amsterdam is mostly available to specific Law degrees and Master’s, thus it is completely fine if you are not familiar with how to act, how to prepare. In March, we will provide competitors workshops where you can learn more about what is exactly a moot court and how to do it. Therefore, beginners to professionals, everyone is welcome!
